Job summary:

In this role you will support all operations within the Climate Projects business line. You will work in a diverse and international unit engaged directly with business line directors and team leads across the globe. Reporting to the Head of Operations for Climate Projects, you will be given ownership of specific operational topics and support transformational business projects enabling more efficient and scalable processes. This includes data analysis & systems management, training & onboarding, process development & implementation. You will ensure that all projects assigned to you and your team are implemented as agreed upon, while adhering to a high standard of quality and committed timeline, milestones, and deliverables. You may be responsible for managing one or more operations specialists/assistants that will provide support to your own tasks, but who will also be available to support the wider operations teams and business line. Based in Amsterdam, you will also act as a liaison with the Climate Projects portfolio team and lead on all engagement and support projects specific to this team. This is a fast paced role that requires cross company collaboration, multi-tasking and prioritisation.

Main tasks & responsibilities:

  • Continuously analyse and improve processes and tools to make them more efficient, user-friendly, and accessible
  • Work with business line directors and team leads to address operational needs and develop new processes
  • Monitor and review process implementation and adoption, collect feedback and reinforce by providing further training when needed
  • Conduct onboarding for new Climate Projects team members and implement in coordination with HR
  • Be the primary point of contact for the Climate Projects portfolio team in Europe and across the globe.
  • Coordinate and manage a support function to support on all operational issues, such as procedural issues, questions on company policies, support with recruitment, legal checks, approvals, etc.
  • Act as a go-to person for questions by the team on processes and internal knowledge management
  • Perform data management and analysis to support communication and reporting on activities, resource management and future opportunities in coordination with the Data Lab team
  • Act as a bridge towards other units including Corporate Services and among the Climate Projects teams
  • Develop, optimise and implement knowledge management tools, processes and procedures (Drive, internal project management tool, etc)
  • Contribute to global process and policy improvements in collaboration with other Corporate Services teams in order to improve knowledge management at South Pole

Requirements:

Essential

  • A university degree, ideally in Business Administration, Political Science, Environmental Sciences. Sustainability, or related disciplines.
  • Relevant work experience (5-7 years) in operations and administration.
  • Experience in working in small teams, ideally within an international and multicultural context.
  • Advanced skills with the use of the MS Office Suite, Google Drive, IT platforms and technologies.
  • A proactive, diligent and independent approach.
  • Strong organisational skills: ability to multitask, focus and prioritise.
  • Excellent personal relationships, enjoy working with and supporting others.
  • Results-driven, with a strong focus on process optimisation and continuous improvement
  • Experience with formatting documents and using styles.
  • Good prioritisation and time management skills.
  • English fluency and strong writing skills are a must.
  • Experience in situations where attention to detail was required.

Desirable

  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced international environment.
  • Inspiring people manager, with experience minimum 1-2 years in managing a small team.
  • Strong familiarity with carbon markets and environmental asset management
  • Diligent, reliable and proactive.
