Mission

Within the Optimization department, the Energy Market design Analyst is responsible for the follow-up of the market design and the contracts of the services concluded with the electricity transmission system operator (TSO Elia) and the management of the participation contracts of Luminus in the nuclear power plants of Doel, Tihange and Chooz.

Key responsibilities of the analyst

Market design and services

  • You follow the evolution of market design – in the context European market integration - and regulatory framework on balancing mechanism, ancillaries services, offshore integration, capacity remuneration mechanism (CRM), Consumer Centric Market Model (CCMD).
  • You participate in workshops organized by the TSO or regulator and contribute to the preparation of proposals for improvement, answers to consultations and positions in close cooperation with Corporate Affairs and other concerned Luminus teams and/or within the sector association.
  • You analyze the changes to the regulatory documents developed and contracts concluded with the TSO and its short and long-term development projects and assess its impacts for Luminus.
  • You support the teams concerned in the implementation of these changes at contractual and operational levels.
  • You are the spokesperson of Optimization department towards the TSO for all market design and contractual matters and you maintain regular contact with Elia’s key Account Managers.
  • You maintain a bird’s eye view and advise your line management on the technical or strategic directions to be taken.

Nuclear

  • You Monitor and check the nuclear costs related to Luminus’s nuclear participations (Opex, Capex, fuel costs, dismantling costs.
  • You prepare and participate in “Comités de Liaison” organized by Electrabel and EDF.

You participate to the preparation of the budgets related to the 2 areas of activity above.

Requirements

  • Master in Engineering (preferred); master in business or economics.
  • Experience in the energy sector for a few years.
  • Experience in the nuclear field is an asset.
  • Organized, critical thinking, customer oriented.
  • Good capacity for synthesis and writing; fluent in English and in French or Dutch.
